Engineering

Engineering Information is the leader in providing online information, knowledge and support of the highest professional relevance for research and industrial practitioners in applied physical sciences and engineering. Our mission since 1884 has been to keep our customers competitive with our up-to-date research and information services.

Engineering Information has an important role in the engineering community. For the universities, Ei products and services provide both faculty and students the most current information available anywhere. In addition, Ei educates students in the use of formal information tools. For those in the corporate community, Ei has been able to provide timely information to facilitate innovation, deliver critical competitive information and directly contribute to the enhancement of product design.

BIOENGINEERING/BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING:
Bioengineering combines biology and engineering. Some of these engineers work closely with biologists and medical doctors to develop medical instruments, artificial organs, and prosthetic devices. Others investigate questions that involve technology and humans such as: How does working with computers all day affect one's health?

Civil engineering

In modern usage, civil engineering is a broad field of engineering that deals with the planning, construction, and maintenance of fixed structures, or public works, as they are related to earth, water, or civilization and their processes. Most civil engineering today deals with roads, structures, water supply, sewer, flood control and traffic. In essence civil engineering is the profession which makes the world a more habitable place to live.

Electrical engineering

The branch of engineering that deals with the technology of electricity, especially the design and application of circuitry and equipment for power generation and distribution, machine control, and communications.

Electronics engineering

Electronics engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the emission, behavior, and effects of electrons (as in electron tubes and transistors) and with electronic devices, systems or equipment. The term also now covers the larger part of electrical engineering degree courses as studied at most European universities. Its practitioners are called electronics engineers in Europe. In the Americas and some other parts of the world, the term electrical engineer is used to describe the same work.

Computer engineering

Computer engineering (CE) (also sometimes called computer systems engineering (CSE)) is a specialized discipline encompassing electrical engineering, electronic engineering, and software engineering. Computer engineering is closely related to computer science, but with more emphasis on practical implementations.
